GCPS' 2022 Summer Learning programs include High School Face-to-Face Summer School and Gwinnett Online Campus for high school students. Families of K-8 students will learn more about the Support + Enrichment + Acceleration (SEA) Program from their students' schools.

GCPS Mask Guidance
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its guidance and the prevention steps that should be taken based on the spread of COVID-19 in communities. As part of the announced changes, the CDC dropped its recommendation for universal school masking and instead will recommend masking only in communities at a high level of risk. In light of this updated guidance and Gwinnett County’s current designation in the “Low” level of community spread, Gwinnett County Public Schools does not require but strongly recommends the use of masks in its facilities.

Peachtree Ridge High School senior earns 2022 Gwinnett STAR Student title
At the STAR Student event held at the John C. Maxwell Leadership Center at 12Stone Church, GCPS honored Chungin “Roy” Lee as Gwinnett County’s STAR (Student-Teacher Achievement Recognition) Student, representing Gwinnett County’s public and private schools, and Adam Sherman, as his STAR Teacher. Cognia Special Review
A Special Review conducted by the district's accrediting body, Cognia, resulted in no change to GCPS' accreditation. It remains a fully accredited school district.
