Information and Policies
It is the mission of the Collins Hill High School Media Center to help empower students to become researchers, analyzers, questioners, critical thinkers, and problem-solvers, effective and ethical stewards of information, and above all, enthusiastic and unapologetic readers!
Hours of Operation
The Collins Hill Media Center is open from 6:30 am to 2:45 pm Monday through Friday.
The Media Center houses about 14,000 books available for check out.
Students may check out up to 5 books at a time for 2 weeks. Students may renew as needed if the book in question has not been requested by another student.
There are 47 desktop computers available for student use.
There is a photocopier available for student use. The cost is 10 cents per page.
Students may print from any desktop. The cost is .10 cents for black and white copies and .25 cents for color copies.
We have the following items available for purchase.
- Posterboard is .50 cents.
- Construction paper is .15 cents
- Lamination is available for .25 cents a foot.
- Spiral binding is available for .25 cents a book.
Students may work in the Media Center before and after school without signing in.
In order to come during the school day, including lunch and advisement, students are required to have a pass.
Students must sign in at the circulation desk and out by the double doors.
Students must know their student identification number to log on to a computer, sing in and out, and to check out books.
Late fees are .5 cents a day with a maximum $3 fine.
Students can place a hold on a book that is currently checked out. Fill out a brief form at the circulation desk and we will notify you when it comes in!
