Spelling Bee Champion
Congratulations! Brianna Suazo Sevilla won the Corley spelling bee in December. She went on to represent the school in the District Spelling Bee. She came in 2nd place and will be Gwinnett County Public Schools' alternate at the regional spelling bee.

Corley Elementary is getting ready for kindergarten! Links for online registration and options for in-person appointments are available on our website, corleyelementary.org. Corley Title I Planning Meeting: Thursday, April 22
All Corley parents are invited to this scheduled Zoom meeting. The meeting agenda will include a review of school data, the plan for improvement, goals for the upcoming school year, and the family engagement plan.

Corley Milestones Assessment Information
The Georgia Milestones End of Grade Assessments will be administered to Corley students from April 22-May 17. Students, who are currently learning digitally, need to register by Monday, April 12. Only digital learning students, who have pre-registered will be able to take the Milestones Assessments.
Testing Schedule (April 22-May 17)
3rd Grade: 5/5, 5/6, 5/7, 5,12, 5/13
4th Grade: 4/29, 5/3, 5/4, 5/10, 5/11
5th Grade: 4/22, 4/26, 4/27, 4/28, 5/17, 5/18
About the Georgia Milestones Assessments
In GCPS, schools administer the Georgia Milestones End of Grade Assessments to students in grades 3-5 to measure achievement in reading, language arts, mathematics, and science (5th grade only). Testing will be administered over three to five days depending on the grade level. Test results will be used to help teachers and schools better understand the impact COVID-19 has had on student learning.

2021 Kindergarten Registration Information
Online Registration begins Tuesday, April 6th.
Please visit the Gwinnett County Public Schools Kindergarten Registration site beginning April 6th for registration information and to complete the online registration process.
Kindergarten registration will be available for any student turning 5 on or before September 1, 2021. After completing the online registration, parents can sign up for an in-person appointment. The first available day is Tuesday, April 20.
All incoming students will be screened using the Kindergarten Readiness Entry Profile (KREP). Scheduled screening dates will begin on April 20th. Once your registration is complete your child can participate in the KREP screening.

Important Information about 2021-2022 School Year (Please Read)
Attention Berkmar Cluster Families
For the 2021-2022, all Gwinnett students will be scheduled for IN-PERSON learning. The district will offer families the opportunity to opt out of in-person learning, allowing their children to participate in a modified digital learning option. Parents who choose to opt out of in person learning for digital instruction should complete the survey through the PARENT PORTAL by April 4th at 11:59 PM.
All families will receive e-mail communication with further details on March 22 via School Messenger. There will be some programs which will require IN-PERSON only instruction due to program requirements.

Reminder about Student Checkout Procedures
A parent or authorized contact must contact the Front Office at 678-924-5330 office 30-45 minutes prior to arriving at the school. Office staff will verify authorization to prevent delays upon arrival. Student will be called from class once the parent/contact has arrived, and ID has been verified.Calling ahead reduces wait time and allow us to complete the checkout process in a timely manner.Teachers are not allowed to accept Class Dojo messages for checkout purposes. For security reasons, all dismissals must go through the Front Office.
