Chorus begins in August and is open to all fifth graders. The chorus puts on two concerts a year in the winter and in the spring.  Other performances can include a retirement home, a Brookwood High baseball game, Brusters Night, and a Gladiators hockey game.

Art Club is an extracurricular club for a select group of 5th graders. Members work on special projects that go above and beyond the normal 5th grade art content and curriculum. They also work with the yearbook staff as official photographers. 

Membership is selected by an application and try out process.  Students should be creative, independent, willing to try and experiment with new things, and most of all love ART!

The Chapter Chat Book Club is open to 3rd grade students who love to read. Students read an assigned book and meet once a month to discuss the book, occasionally Skype with an author, and eat lunch. 

Students interested in joining the Chapter Chat Book Club must apply.  These students are invited to read a book and take a quiz. The top 20 are selected for the club.

Grades: 1st, 2nd, & 3rd grades

The Dot & Dash Robotics Club allows students to explore a variety of robots and learn more about coding.  To allow more students the opportunity to participate, students may participate in either the fall session or the spring session of the club.

Students will learn how to perform on stage while gaining confidence, speaking skills, and how to work well with others.  At the end of the school year, the drama club performs a play for their families.

The ten member team, selected through an application process, will work together to prepare for and compete in the FLL competition in December. In early fall, FLL releases a Challenge that is based on a real-world scientific topic. Each Challenge has three parts: the Robot Game, the Project, and the FLL Core Values. Teams participate in the Challenge by programming a robot to score points on a themed playing field (Robot Game), developing a solution to a problem they have identified (Project), all guided by the FLL Core Values. Teams may then choose to attend an official tournament.

Guitar Club is for a select group of 4th and 5th grade students.  Club members learn how to play guitar and perform in the winter and spring concert with the Fifth Grade Chorus.  You don’t have to have experience playing an instrument, but students will be chosen based on musicality, academics, conduct, and attendance.

During intramurals, 5th grade students get to participate in games and sports that are not generally done in the regular P.E. class.

During our weekly club meetings, students will engage in fun and creative builds, challenges, battles, and e-sports. Club members will also build communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity skills. Students will be required to use their school-issued Chromebook and their Minecraft: Education Edition account on the GCPS server.

The Page Turners Book Club is open to 4th grade students who love to read. Students read an assigned book and meet once a month to discuss the book, occasionally Skype with an author, and eat lunch. The book club will be hosted by Ms. Reynolds and Mr. Don from the Gwinnett County Public Library.

Students interested in joining the Page Turners Book Club must apply at the end of their 3rd grade year.  At the beginning of their 4th grade year, these students are invited to read a book and take a quiz. The top 20 are selected for the Page Turners Club.

In Reader’s Rally, readers gain an appreciation for good literature and discuss books with peers.  Membership invitations are determined by recommendation from the 4th grade teacher.
Members also get to participate in the Gwinnett County Readers Rally reading quiz bowl-style competition in February.  Students read books from a predetermined list and answer questions about these books.

The Brookwood Elementary Running Club is a great activity for fitness and fun!  Join with other 4th and 5th grade students who love to run and work increasing your stamina and distance at the Brookwood Elementary School track.

Witzzle Pro is for 4th and 5th grade students. A witzzle (witty puzzle) is comprised of a unique 3–by-3 array of the digits 1-9. Students are challenged to manipulate three digits and two operations to equal a target number. Students must draw on their knowledge of basic math facts, understanding of number and operations, and problem solving strategies.  It is a fun way to hone those math skills.
