3D Printing Club (4th & 5th)
Grades: 4th and 5th
Meeting Days: Meet Mondays and Wednesday afternoons 3:00-4:00 beginning March 27th through the end of the year.
Description: Students who join this club will have an opportunity to immerse themselves in the field of STEM. During our meetings, students will engage in designing and prototyping solutions to challenges presented each week. We will learn several engineering as well as 3D printing principals as we find solutions to real world problems we face. In addition, students will have an opportunity to work on their own 3D projects as well.

FLL Robotics- Discover Team (K & 1st)
Grades: Kindergarten & First
Meeting Days: Meet Mondays and Wednesday afternoons 3:00-4:00 beginning in late January through the festival date on March 27th. The festival will be on Saturday, March 27th. Location is still being decided.
Description: This playful introductory STEM program ignites their natural curiosity and builds their habits of learning with hands-on activities in the classroom with Lego DUPLO bricks.
The FLL Discover team with students in Kindergarten and 1st grade will learn about and solve meaningful real-world problems based on the SuperPower Theme. Students will design, build solutions, and collaborate to develop ideas. Students will use the LEGO STEAM Park set and DUPLO Class Pack. Students will build models to showcase their learning at the FLL Festival.

Description: Do you enjoy building, designing and working with a team to create Robots using LEGOs? This Team might be for you!
The FLL Explore Team with students in Grades 2 and 3 will investigate a challenge related to the real-world theme SuperPowered. Students will use SPIKE Essentials or WeDo 2.0 to code the team models to move/be interactive. Students will investigate a real-world problem to share during the Festival.

MES Blue Chorus (K-1)
Grades: K & 1st graders
Meeting Days: Thursdays mornings, 7:00-7:40 AM (First rehearsal is October 20) Permission form must be submitted prior to attending
Description: Students will rehearse choral pieces for special performances.
Registration: Chorus registration will be on a first come, first served basis. Registration information was handed out to Kindergarten & 1st Grade students.

Team Cuisine members will be expected to follow Mulberry’s SOAR behavior expectations during each session.

Planting Pollinators (K-5)
This is a 2nd semester club.

Drama Club (3rd, 4th, & 5th)
Grades: 3rd, 4th, & 5th
Meeting Days: Begins Thursday January 12th. We will meet on Thursdays from 2:45 - 4:00
*Starting in March, we will meet on Mondays and Thursdays
Description: Drama Club is starting at Mulberry! Drama Club will hold one evening performance on April 20th. (The performance is mandatory for drama club members)
Registration: Sign up on Mypaymentsplus.com Space is limited to 20 students.
Cost: Drama club has a one-time fee of $30. This will cover costumes, props, scenery, t-shirts and scripts.

The Kind Kid Society (3rd, 4th, 5th)
Grades: 3rd, 4th, & 5th

This will take place in the 2nd Semester: Feb 1, 8, 15, 22 & March 1, 8, 15, 22
Description: The club will focus on what it means to show kindness and how it can affect others. We will do projects each week to spread kindness around the school building and community.

Wittzle Pro (3rd, 4th, 5th)
Description: Witzzle Pro is for students who enjoy solving number puzzles. The children will be challenged to use critical thinking skills while playing a challenging game of speed “number crunching.” Students will also have the opportunity to participate in one or more Witzzle Pro tournaments.
Grades: Open to all Third, Fourth, and Fifth graders
Registration: Registration form will be sent home in Friday folders
The club will meet in Ms. Nevius’ classroom each Wednesday morning 7:15 to 7:45 a.m.

Yearbook Club (5th)
Grades: 5th grade
Meeting Days: Sept 6, Oct 4, Nov 1, Dec 6, Jan 10, Feb 7, March 7
Description: Yearbook club will be open to a select few 5th grade students who would be willing to meet during their recess time (12:45-1:10) one day every other week to take pictures of different grade levels for the yearbook.
The Mulberry yearbook is always one of the most unforgettable pieces to our school year. It captures all the fun memories and events that take place throughout our school year. This project takes the whole school year to put together and would not be complete without the help of our yearbook club members.
- You MUST be in 5th Grade for the 2022-2023 School Year
- You MUST exhibit good behavior
- You MUST have parental consent
- You MUST be able to meet deadlines
- You MUST be able to attend the yearbook club meetings
- You MUST be able to keep up with your schoolwork outside of the club
Meeting all requirements does not guarantee a position in the Yearbook Club – there are a limited number of spaces- available, so not all applications will be accepted.

Mulberry Advisory Council (K-5)
Description & Activities: The Mulberry School Counselors are looking for volunteers to participate in our Advisory Council! Advisory councils, recommended by the American School Counselor Association, help school counseling programs analyze and document the answer to the question, “How are students different because of what school counselors do?” The council will examine services in three key domains of academic, personal/social, and college and career exploration and will review data related to the comprehensive developmental school counseling program at Mulberry Elementary School. The council will meet twice per year. Please reach out to Katie Fields at katie.fields@gcpsk12.org if you’re interested in participating!

Student Council (4th & 5th)
Description & Activities: Student Council provides a unique opportunity for fourth and fifth grade students to learn leadership skills and participate in an important democratic process. Fifth grade students may campaign for positions as officers on the Student Council, and both fourth and fifth graders may run for class representative positions.
Members are expected to demonstrate exemplary behavior, work habits, and attendance. Student council members receive specific leadership training. They build communication and mediation skills and participate in several school-wide initiatives including charity giving, and modeling leadership habits.Grades: 4-5 grades

Falcon Morning News Crew (5th)
Description:
Fifth grade students will have the opportunity to train and produce the morning broadcast. Every fifth grader will have an opportunity to take part with the morning broadcast. Our morning news crew consists of news anchors, Chef Antonio, camera operators, sound mixer, floor director, teleprompter, and story board mixer.
Meeting Dates:
Every morning 8:00 AM to 8:25 AM Students are chosen by the teacher to participate in the news crew based on the fifth grade rotation.

Mulberry Student Ambassadors (5th)
Description:
Mulberry Elementary School Student Ambassadors are 5th grade student leaders who have been selected to assist staff in welcoming students and guests into our school and ensuring their safety and comfort. These students show leadership skills and act as role models for other students in our school. Ambassadors are chosen at the end of the 4th grade. In order to be considered for selection, students must fill out an application form, which includes a short essay. Students are chosen based on current leadership skills as observed by their teachers as well as those who show the potential and motivation to develop and strengthen their skills as leaders during the year.
The responsibilities of Mulberry Student Ambassadors include but are not limited to:
- Safety Patrols – Students will serve as Safety Patrols during arrival and dismissal every morning and afternoon, helping faculty and staff ensure that all students are safe during those times.
- Peer Leaders - During special school events, students will serve as a welcoming presence at Mulberry, providing directions and support to our guests, faculty and staff. Peer Leaders will also provide support to teachers during dismissal.
