  • GCPS Board of Education Visits NorthbrookMS

As part of the September Board of Education work session, School Board members took a technology field trip to see firsthand how technology is supporting teaching and learning in Gwinnett middle schools. During the visit to Northbrook Middle School, Board members were impressed with the levels of engagement found in classrooms, computer labs, engineering labs, the media center, the production studio, and in the inSPIRE lab. All of the technology featured on the tour is part of the district's 2019 retrofit for all middle schools.

  • Greetings, Northbrook Community,

This is a very exciting time for our school. For the third consecutive year Northbrook has been ranked in the top 20% of all middle schools within the district! The first year we ranked #5, the second year we ranked #4, and I am extremely excited to announce that the results from this school year’s ranking have us placed at #3 for all middle schools in the district.
We are extremely proud of the hard work and effort from our students and teachers and view this as a testament to the positive partnership that we have with you (our community).

We also wrapped up our School Board Retrofit Showcase. During this event, Northbrook had the distinct honor of hosting, the superintendent, each of our board members, and several members from the superintendents' cabinet at our school on 9/19/19. In total, we had close to 30 visitors from the district office to come to our classrooms, visit students, and see firsthand what our students are doing with the new technology that has been provided to them. Our students stepped up to the plate and delivered in fine fashion, as they always do. Be sure to view the “Technology Retrofit” link on our website for more information.
I could not be prouder to be a school leader for public education. This is a great time to be a part of Northbrook Middle. Thank you once again for all that you have done and will continue to do to set our school apart from the rest.

    Go Lions,

    Dr. Keith Thompson
