  • Prom Guidelines

    Please review the rules below that are in place for Junior-Senior Prom at Lanier Islands on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022. Please be sure you understand them and are aware of the consequences if you do not abide by them.

    1. Face masks are strongly encouraged based on recent CDC guidance.
    2. Photo ID (Driver’s License, School ID, Learners Permit, etc) will be required upon check-in.
    3. Prom will end promptly at 10:00 pm. You must have a ride at Lanier Islands by 10:00 pm.
    4. Suggestive or inappropriate dancing will not be allowed at all. This is a school-sponsored event. Please understand you WILL be asked to leave if you cannot dance appropriately.
    5. No excessively revealing (front and/or back) or short dresses will be allowed. If you think your dress is in violation of this dress code, please bring a picture with you wearing the dress to an administrator’s office.
    6. Gentlemen—jackets and ties are required. Shirts must be worn at all times.
    7. No glow sticks or open containers of any kind will be allowed.
    8. This is a school-sponsored event; therefore, all GCPS and Lanier High School rules apply.
    9. Students must be present for half the school day on Friday, April 22nd, 2022, in order to be able to attend Prom on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022.
    10. Students who are suspended or expelled during this time are not allowed to attend any GCPS school function, including Prom.
    11. Lanier High School students who are planning to bring a date that does not attend Lanier High School to the dance are responsible for sharing this information with their date.

    Ensure that you have read through the above guidelines and discussed them with your parents.

    I understand that I must follow all of the above rules or I could be asked to leave the Prom.

  • Guest Permission Forms

    If you are bringing a non-GCPS guest to prom, you must complete the form below. Upload the completed form AND a copy of your date's ID on the eCLASS landing page (the first page you see when you go to eCLASS). This form must be turned in by April 18th, 2022, and must be turned in BEFORE you pick up your tickets.

  • General Information

    Who can attend the prom?
    Prom is a dance for any junior or senior who has purchased a prom ticket on My Payments Plus. Juniors must pay junior dues. Seniors should purchase a ticket on My Payments Plus if you did not pay junior dues last year. Guest tickets can be purchased on My Payments Plus as well

    When is the dance?
    The dance is Saturday, April 23rd from 7-10 pm. The prom will end promptly at 10:00 pm. You must have a ride at Lanier Islands to pick you up no later than 10:00 pm.

    Where is the dance?
    Prom will be held at Lanier Islands.

    What can I use for a photo ID at check-in?
    You can use a school ID (this year or last year), Driver’s License, or Learner’s Permit. If you don’t have one of these, go to the media center to get them to print your student information.

  • Tickets

    How much are tickets?
    $90 for juniors (secures a ticket for junior and senior years)

    Free for seniors who paid junior dues last year, otherwise $100 for seniors who did not pay junior dues.

    $50 for guests

    What if my date does not attend a Gwinnett County Public School?
    Non-GCPS dates need to complete a permission form. Current high school students need to get parent and administrator signatures. Forms are due prior to picking up tickets. Forms can be found on eCLASS on the landing page (the first page you see) under Assignments.

    Where do I buy a ticket?
    On MyPaymentsPlus until April 18th

    What is the last date to buy a prom ticket?
    The last day to pay is April 18th on MyPaymentsPlus.

    When do I pick up my ticket?

    All ticket pick up will be Tuesday April 19th-Thursday April 21st during all lunches. Students cannot pick up tickets for other students. You must pay off all student fines before picking up your ticket. There will be no ticket purchases after April 18th and no ticket pick-ups after the 21st.

  • Prom Court

    How can I nominate someone for Prom Court?
    Nominations will be made on eCLASS the week of April 11-15. Only seniors can be nominated for prom court.

    When do we vote?
    Voting takes place at prom.

     

    How will I know if I am on the prom court?
    The top 3 nominees will be announced on April 15th.

  • Dance Behavior and Dress Code

    What is the dress code?
    Ladies - no excessively revealing (front and/or back) or short dresses will be allowed. If you think your dress is in violation of this dress code, please bring a picture with you wearing the dress to an administrator’s office.

    What is the attendance policy?
    Students must be present for half the school day on Friday, April 22nd in order to be able to attend the dance on Saturday, April 23rd. There will be an attendance roster at the door to check this information. Students who are suspended or expelled during this time are not allowed to attend any GCPS school function, including Prom.

  • Parking and Tickets

    How much is parking?
    Parking is free at Lanier Islands. More specific parking information will be provided soon.
