Wax Museum
Starling is looking for artists in grades K-5 to share one historical figure for our Wax Museum at Black History Night. Information is below and attached to this message.
1. When/Where: Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 6:00-6:20 p.m. (presenters should arrive at 5:30 p.m. in the Media Center)
2. Research: This Wax Museum project will be done at home. Students may research their person using books checked out from the media center, at their local library, or do some research at home on their computer.
During the Wax Museum, you must respond in a first-person account of the person’s major accomplishments. EXAMPLE: Use “I was born…I invented….etc.) You may want to have a note card to assist in your reading aloud at the wax museum or you may choose to memorize this first-person account.
3. Requirements: You will need to dress like the person (NO Blackface) and read or memorize the information from your presentation. Make it interesting for the listeners and exciting for them. After researching, present information on a tri-fold poster board. Be creative! Information should be in a bibliography format and include the following: Picture(s) of your person, date and place of Birth, why are they well-known in history? Start at the beginning of their life and go in chronological order, and major accomplishments.
