  • Lunchroom Update

We are excited to announce that parents/adults may join students for lunch in the cafeteria.  With that being said, we are very limited in the number of available seats.  We ask that you use the link below to sign up for a time slot to eat with your child.  Signing up beforehand is required.  At this time, we can only accommodate one adult and one student at a time. We ask that families only sign up for 3 spots per child for the remainder of the year to ensure all families have an opportunity to eat with their children. Also, please do not bring any outside food.

  • Two Opportunities for Input on GCPS Curriculum

    Annual AKS Review - Extended
The annual review of the Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) learning standards is open and runs through Oct. 14. Parents, GCPS staff, students, and Gwinnett County residents are invited to review proposed standards online, offering feedback on AKS that have been developed to align to the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) and/or Georgia Performance Standards (GPS). Feedback on this year’s AKS review may be submitted via an online AKS survey. Comments will be accepted through Thursday, Oct 14. Click here for a list of the courses with AKS under review.
    Instructional Resources Public Review
Staff, students, parents, and Gwinnett community members are invited to provide input on proposed instructional resources for select courses in Language Arts, Social Studies, Career and Technical Education, and Foreign Language/ Dual Language Immersion. Before adopting instructional resources for classroom use, GCPS undergoes an extensive selection process. Multiple committees involving various stakeholder groups were convened to select resources to consider for adoption. The resources were reviewed for alignment with the school system’s Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) curriculum as well as strength of instructional strategies, freedom from sensitivity or bias, and diverse representation. Data from the public review and classroom pilots will be considered in making adoption recommendations to the Board of Education in early 2022. This year’s public review opportunity is now open, from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31. To begin the review, please visit this link. Thank you for your interest.
