Summary of Goals for Junior Year
- Parents should attend a virtual Junior Parent Night Meeting on Thursday, February 1, at 6:30 PM.
- Parents that want an in-person appointment in the month of February should make an appointment on the Counseling website. Choose your student’s counselor. Be sure to pick a time that says “JR Conf” in the appointment slot. Other appointments are reserved for students in other grade levels.
- Take the SAT/ACT this semester.
- Start looking for what you want to do for a career and what you would like to major in for college.
- Pick several colleges and/or universities that you can apply to in the fall of your senior year.
- Visit some colleges and/or universities. The summer is always a great time for this. However, if you do this during the school year, get a Pre-Arranged Absence Form from the Attendance Office.
- Stay active or join clubs/activities to build your resume. Keep track of your activities, awards, etc.
- Preview scholarships—most will be available for seniors at this time.
