  • Special Education Day

Special Education DayToday is Special Education Day!

Our #TeamGCPS special education staff members—teachers, paraprofessionals, physical and occupational therapists, school psychologists, behavioral support staff, speech-language pathologists, support staff for assistive technology, special education bus drivers and monitors, and others who support our students with disabilities—work to ensure that #EachAndEvery student reaches his or her potential, and develops life skills that foster independence.

Special education staff members at the district and school levels work together to support the Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs) of eligible students (ages 3-21), providing special education services on a continuum—from the least restrictive to more restrictive environments—based on the educational needs of each student. Our parent mentors support families by providing information, guidance, and resources to families of children receiving special education services so that they can support their student at home, at school, and in the community.

Thank you to our special education staff members for contributing to learning environments where our students and families feel welcome, safe, and valued.

  • Georgia Parent Survey

The Georgia Parent Survey is designed to give parents an opportunity to share input with the Georgia Department of Education. It contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using a personal computer, smartphone, or tablet. Parents that do not have access to the Internet, should contact their child’s school to arrange to complete the survey at the school. The Minor Elementary Parent Center is available from 9:00am-3:00pm daily to assist parents with completing the survey.  The data parents provide by completing this survey will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. Individual data results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to system or school personnel or the public and will not be posted online. Please provide your voice for Gwinnett County Public Schools by CLICKING HERE and completing the survey.

    Thank you for your participation!
