NORTHBROOK ATHLETICS FOR
- Overview of Middle School Athletics - Gwinnett County Public Schools supports middle school athletics in boys and girls basketball and cheerleading. Northbrook fields a girls and a boys club soccer team, as well, beginning in late November/early December. In addition, Northbrook offers a variety of intramural sports in the fall and spring semesters.
- Cheerleading - Northbrook cheerleading supports our girls and boys basketball teams by providing in-game spirit cheers and halftime performances. Students in grades 7 and 8 are eligible to participate in GCPS middle school cheerleading. Northbrook offers cheerleading tryouts for all rising 7th and 8th graders who wish to participate. Tryouts are typically held in the Northbrook gym in May. Any student who wishes to try out for cheerleading MUST have current physical and insurance information on file at the school. Students will not be eligible for tryouts or participation in athletics without these documents on file. The Northbrook Athletics Participation and Medical Form should be turned into the grade level office prior to tryouts.
- Basketball - Northbrook basketball tryouts for girls and boys typically begin in October. Students wishing to participate in basketball must complete the Northbrook Athletics Participation and Medical Form prior to our October tryouts. Medical examinations will be accepted if the exam was within one calendar year of the tryout date.
- Soccer - Northbrook soccer is a club team, rather than an officially sanctioned sport. Our soccer team plays "friendly" competitions with other schools in January, February, and March. Soccer tryouts will be held for Girls and Boys in December. Students wishing to participate in soccer MUST complete the Northbrook Athletics Participation and Medical Form prior tryouts. Medical examinations will be accepted if the exam was within one calendar year of the tryout date. See "Required Forms" below.
