Ridge Rhetoric: Debate Club
Advisors:Suchithra Shanmugam and Alicia Raghunanan from Northbrook Middle SchoolAmy DePeaza from Peachtree Ridge High SchoolMission: Connect, support, and inspire a diverse community committed to empowering students through speech and debate (National Speech and Debate Association)
Planned activities: Students will learn about all of the different competition events that Ridge Rhetoric has to offer and then choose which Speech or Debate event interests them the most. They will then go more into depth about rules specific to their category of choice as well as research, writing, and being able to speak for certain amounts of time.
National Affiliation: National Speech and Debate Association
Meeting Dates: September 15, October 20, November 17, December 15, the 3rd Thursday of each month.

The Art Club is a place for students to continue developing their artistic skills, explore new art mediums, and collaborate with other creative individuals to enrich their school and community.
Permission slips and money dues are due by September 8, 2022 (Only 50 SPOTS AVAILABLE)

Boys On The Rise

Mission: It is the goal of Boys on the Rise program to give assistance to those individuals. Boys on the Rise is a mentoring program which will focus on 5 topics:
*Building positive relationships
*Respect
* Dealing with pressures
* Effective communication
* LeadershipPlanned Activities: Students will be paired with staff members who will serve as mentors to offer accountability, support, and guidance, while encouraging students to build proactive and meaningful lives. Mentors will interact with their mentees weekly. Mentors and mentees will meet once a month to discuss core topics from different presenters in our community and GCPS. Mentees will engage in team-building activities to help promote positivity and excellence.
Meetings: Will be held in the mornings before school at 8:00-8:55 a.m.
Open to: Male students in 6, 7, & 8 Grade

Drama Club

Northbrook’s Drama Club is the club for all things performing arts. We are currently seeking actors, set designers, and backstage crew. Students work towards the production of a spring semester theatre production and learn the basics of theatre craft.

Eco Warriors

Communication: Parents and students are required to use the "Remind App" (available on android/IOS) for updates on meetings throughout the school year. The class code is @nmseco
Requirements: Students who are interested in the environment, demonstrate Northbrook P.R.I.D.E. behavior. Grades 6-8th boys and girls are welcome to join.
Planned Activities: The Eco Warrior Club is a seasonal outdoor club that fosters gardening and social skills. Activities include:
- Planting and tending to the outdoor garden as well as the indoor grow room
- Students will be allowed to take home vegetables grown
- Assisting in developing a school recycling program
- Pollinator garden and other conservation efforts
- Landscaping

Mission: Girls on the Run inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident.
Planned Activities: Girls will meet twice a week after school (4:30-6:00pm) to make connections, learn important life skills, get active and HAVE FUN! At the end of the season, girls will celebrate their accomplishment at the Girls on the Run 5K.

Robotics Club

Competitions will take place among team members and may also involve local, state, national, and international competitions. Technology Student Association (TSA)

TSA chapters take the study of STEM beyond the classroom and give students the chance to pursue academic challenges among friends with similar goals and interests. Together, TSA chapter members work on competitive events, learn and apply leadership skills, and may attend conferences at the state, regional, and national levels.

Winter Guard

Meetings: Students will practice 2 times a week to learn skills in flag spinning, dance and movement. These skills will be combined together to create a creative routine that will be performed at competitions during the Winter Guard season (January - April).
