    Our mission is to ensure that all media center patrons become effective and efficient users of information and life-long learners.

    Our goal is to provide a warm, caring, supportive environment for all faculty, staff, students, family members, and community members.  The Alford Media Program strives to support the school’s curriculum and instructional goals. The focus of the media team will be on building collaborative relationships with the students and staff, emphasizing the use of instructional technology, and providing quality resources that encourage reading across all content areas.

    Our media center is open from 9:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. daily.

    Throughout the day, students may visit the media center independently with their teacher's permission.

    Teachers also schedule a class time to visit the media center.

    How many books can I check out?

    Kindergarten and First Grade: 1 book
    Second Grade through 5th Grade: 2 books

    When are the books due back to the Media Center?

    Kindergrten and First Grade books are due in 1 week.  Students in Second through Fifth Grade check out books for 2 weeks, however, students may return books early and check out new materials.  There is no fine for late books.

    If a book is lost or damaged beyond repair, the cost of the book is $15.00 for hardback and $5.00 for paperback.

    If a student has a fine or an overdue book, fines must be paid or books returned before he or she may check out another book.
