Dr. Jose M. DeJesus

Dr. DeJesus assumed the role of principal at Cedar Hill Elementary School in 2016, bringing with him a wealth of educational experience that spans over 28 years. Notably, 14 years have been dedicated to his role as a dynamic and forward-thinking school principal.

His remarkable journey in education leadership includes principalships at several notable schools, including Chamblee Middle School in DeKalb County, Georgia, and Denn John Middle School in Osceola County, Florida. These diverse experiences have showcased his ability to lead and inspire in various educational environments.

Within the Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) district, he has held principal positions at Berkmar Middle School and Beaver Ridge Elementary School and an assistant principal role at Berkmar High School and Berkeley Lake Elementary School, where he contributed significantly to the success of the GCPS educational community.

Furthermore, Dr. DeJesus excelled as an assistant principal at Lakeshore Middle School in Palm Beach County, Florida, demonstrating a consistent commitment to fostering educational excellence in various settings.

Beyond administration, he has served as a Federal Programs Specialist and an ESOL coordinator, providing valuable support in ensuring that every student receives an inclusive and empowering education.

Dr. DeJesus's educational journey began as a classroom teacher, where he taught middle and high school mathematics, nurturing the growth and development of countless students.

His educational background is equally impressive, with a Doctorate in Education from the University of Georgia, a Master of Education from Florida Atlantic University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Chapman University. Recognizing his exceptional leadership qualities, he graduated from the GCPS Quality-Plus Leader Academy in 2007.

Before embarking on his career in education, Dr. DeJesus honorably served our nation in the U.S. Navy, exemplifying his dedication to service. He is a loving father of three children, and his wife also contributes to the field of education, working with students with special needs.

In his leisure time, Dr. DeJesus enjoys cruising with his family, indulging in reading, and embracing the great outdoors.

Ms. Tamika Beck

Ms. Beck has been with Gwinnett County Public Schools for more than two decades. She currently holds a Specialist degree in Educational Administration and Supervision. Outside of her role as an Assistant Principal, Ms. Beck enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. Ms. Beck is a lifelong learner and advocate for children, families and communities.

Mrs. Demetria Smith

Mrs. Smith has served as one of Cedar Hill’s Assistant Principals since 2014. She is an Ohio native and graduated from the University of Cincinnati. Mrs. Smith received a Master of Science degree from Albany State University, and a Specialist degree from Troy State University. Prior to Cedar Hill, Mrs. Smith served as a kindergarten and 3rd grade teacher at Sylvester Road Elementary School in Dougherty County. She served as an Assistant Principal at Live Oak Elementary also located in Dougherty County. In her pass time Mrs. Smith likes to read and spend time with family and friends.

Mrs. Lindsey Reddy

Mrs. Reddy has worked in Gwinnett County Public Schools since 2007. She grew up near Athens, Georgia after living all over the U.S. as a young child. After graduating from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, she earned a Master's degree from Georgia State University in Applied Linguistics. She taught English as a Second Language to adults for a little while before deciding to focus on Elementary Education. After earning her certification in Early Childhood Education she began teaching 3rd grade at Alford Elementary. During her time at Alford Elementary, she completed her Ed.S. from Nova Southeastern University and gained additional experience in 4th grade and Gifted Education. In 2014, Mrs. Reddy became an Instructional Coach and continued in that role for three years before transferring to Cedar Hill Elementary as an Instructional Coach. She was Cedar Hill's Instructional Coach for five years prior to becoming an Assistant Principal in August of 2022. In her spare time, Mrs. Reddy loves reading, DIY projects, and attending softball tournaments and track meets with her two daughters.
