  • First LEGO League Robotics- Starbots

    Explore Team: In First Lego League (FLL) Robotics, students learn about computer coding, robot assembly and operation, and learn to solve a real- world problem while competing against teams from other schools. Students present different aspects of their solution at competition and compete in a robot challenge based on the problem they are solving. Six (6) students will go to Showcase.

    Good News Club

    Students will assist in the media center one day a week during recess for the duration of nine weeks. Students will assist with shelving books, helping younger students complete check-outs, and various media tasks.

    OM brings the classroom to life as students apply what they learn and combine it with their interests and passions to solve our unique open-ended problems. OM also emphasizes teamwork, budgeting, time management, public speaking, and so much more.

  • Peer Leaders

    Peer Leaders

    Grade 5          Sponsor: Sheri Terry

    Peer Leaders in grade 5 help to guide younger students toward academic press and positive community in their role of supporters, peer mentors, and role models. Some responsibilities include PBIS Store support and helping to raise the flag and take it down each afternoon.

  • Reader's Rally

    The Gwinnett Readers Rally is a quiz bowl-style competition for students in grades 4 – 5. Students read books from a predetermined list and answer questions about those books. Each Gwinnett County school may send one team of up to 10 players to the Readers Rally Competition. The Gwinnett County Readers Rally Competition is typically held the third weekend in February each year.

  • Recycling Club

    The Recycling Club is comprised of 4th grade students who wish to help our environment through recycling. Students will collect paper recycling every Friday morning during morning arrival. Six 5th grade students who were part of the team last year serve as captains to help manage each of the 6 zones.

  • Safety Patrol

    Grade 5             Sponsor: Chadd Stern and Jose Rivera

    Safety Patrols take the Kindergarten and First grade students to their buses in the afternoon during dismissal. Each Safety Patrol wears a green belt. Safety Patrols will meet each month with Mr. Rivera, or as needed.

    Simpson Singers

    Grades 5             Sponsor: Meaghan Curry

    Simpson Singers is available to any 5th grade student who enjoys singing and making music. Rehearsals will be held 7:45-8:40 one morning a week.

    We will explore music primarily through singing and movement-based activities to prepare for two concerts during the year.
    Simpson Singers will be joined by all 5th graders to sing the National Anthem at a Braves game in the Spring.

    The Spanish Club's mission is to promote awareness, appreciation, and understanding of the Spanish-speaking countries around the world, their language, music, arts and food. Students will learn different styles of music and play instruments, they will learn about different types of food, dances, and art from Spanish-speaking countries.
