This industry-certified program will teach students how to perform automotive vehicle body repair and refinishing skills such as panel replacement, metal straightening, welding and automotive painting.  Students will bring damaged vehicle components to their original condition using state-of-the-art equipment and technology in the automotive lab.

Introduction to Collision Repair

Is the prerequisite to all other courses in the collision repair pathway. Employment opportunities in the collision repair field will be explored. In this course you will be exposed to all areas of collision repair and automotive refinish such as safety, refinishing, metal repair, plastic repair, automotive construction, and estimate reading and writing. Basic skills in all of the above mentioned areas will be taught.

Paint and Refinishing I

Is the first course in the painting and refinishing strand of the collision repair that will teach you the skills and knowledge to obtain a career in the automotive refinish industry. You will learn theory, as well as hands on application in a project based setting. This training will give successful completers basic skills and knowledge to obtain an entry level job in the automotive refinish field.

Paint and Refinishing II

Is the second course in the paint and refinishing strand of the collision repair pathway that will teach you the skills and knowledge needed in the automotive refinish industry. You will learn theory and get hands on experience in a project based setting. This training will give students basic skills and knowledge to obtain an entry level job in the automotive refinish field.

Auto Collision II

This program is available to seniors who have successfully completed all the requirements for Auto Collision I. Courses include:

• Non-Structural Analysis & Damage Repair I
• Non-Structural Analysis & Damage Repair II
• Collision and Enviromental Saftety
• SP-2 Certification
• I-CAR Pro level one

I realized at a young age that I loved working on cars, especially wrecked ones. In my junior year of high school I had the opportunity to take a two-year auto collision course at a technical high school just like Maxwell. I realized that the auto collision industry was where I wanted to be. After graduation I was hired as a painter in a Ford dealership where I worked for several years as a paint technician.

I operated my own collision repair business for twenty eight year. I realized that I liked teaching employees how to do auto collision repair. When a teaching position in the Auto Collision Repair Department came open, I decided to try teaching full time. I have never regretted leaving my shop.

The auto collision industry is a very demanding and rewarding industry. Auto collision repair will always be in demand. The collision industry is in need of qualified technicians; with my years of experience my goal is to teach students quality repair skills to repair modern day vehicles to today’s high tech standards. I enjoy working with young adults and teaching them collision repair.

My wife, Luann and I have been married for forty five years. We have three daughters and one son. And we now have one granddaughter and four grandsons.

Mr. Paul Kable

The journey started with Hot Wheels and model car building as a kid. I became interested in cars when my parents took me to car shows and drag races. The automotive industry fascinated me almost all my life. When in High School I realized there was an auto body course and I just had to be in it. Once I was accepted in the course I was hooked.

I have over thirty years of experience working in the collision repair industry. Most of my career I worked as a collision repair technician. But I also had positions as a damage appraiser for repair shops and major insurance companies When the opportunity at Maxwell became available, I knew it would be a perfect fit.

The auto collision industry is a very demanding and rewarding industry. Auto collision repair will always be in demand. The collision industry is in need of qualified technicians; With my years of knowledge and experience my goal is to teach students quality collision repair skills. I enjoy working with young adults and aiding them in the development of their skills as collision repair technicians.

My wife, Julie and I have been married for ten years. We have three boys and one daughter.
