    Power Flower project (creating flowers out of plastic water bottles) create bouquets to deliver to cancer patients. We collaborate with the WES foundation Sarah Babrick. Fall planting of bulbs in our school garden. Saturday clean up location, date and time TBA (last year was Gary Pirkle Park). Trunk or Treat. Decorate bandanas for animal shelters. Georgia aquarium field trip in January. "Love our Bus Event" in Feb to recognize our bus drivers and students that ride the bus to reduce air pollution (we collaborate with Georgia Commute Options). Recycling of paper and cardboard every 2 weeks until the end of the year. Gingerbread house decorations and pumpkin carvings, potlucks and more.

    Mission Statement

    The French Honor Society's mission is to recognize students' outstanding scholarship in the study of French. Students who meet the membership criteria will be welcomed in at an induction ceremony (by invitation only), receive and get to wear a tri-colored honor cord at graduation, and receive a membership certificate and French Club t-shirt. French Honor Society provides a way to focus activities around the French language and Francophone cultures and to encourage participation in French-related extra curricular activities. In addition, students can acquire leadership skills by serving as officers of French Club and FHS (FHS members are given priority in the leadership board voting process), directing the initiation ceremony, participating in community service and tutoring, or leading other chapter events.

    We will complete the same activities as French Club; however, French Honor Society members can also gain community service hours for tutoring French 1, 2 and 3 students in French.     The purpose of the Lanier LawHorns is to help students gain an understanding of the legal system by providing opportunities for students to participate in mock trials where players assume attorney and witness roles in a court case. The students prepare this case and compete in the Georgia High School Mock Trial competition against schools across the county and state.

    Mu Alpha Theta is the National High School Mathematics Honor Society with over 75,000 student members in more than 1,500 schools.     National Honor Society is a prestigious organization that invites members based on their cumulative GPA of 94  or above. In addition to being an Honors organization, we feel that service is an integral part of what we do, and we will be hosting numerous service projects throughout the year to help our community. Membership is by invitation only in the spring to all rising 11th graders,  There is an application process, with new members being notified in May. Dues cover national dues, purchase of stoles for seniors, induction pins and certificates, and various incidentals during the year.
