     CMS 360 Challenge

To promote a love for reading and to foster valuable reading skills, Couch Middle School encourages all its students to read for at least 360 minutes this summer. Students are free to read whatever they choose (fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, or magazines).  Our goal is simply to keep students reading!  Students who read and log at least 360 minutes will get to attend a CMS Reading Celebration in August, earn a free book of their choice, and qualify for prize drawings, including the grand prize of an Amazon Fire tablet!

Students will use Beanstack to log their minutes.  All GCPS students have an active Beanstack account, and students will receive training on using Beanstack in their language arts class.  Students will use their student number and four-digit birthday (MMDD) to log in.

Each school has its own Beanstack account, so students will need to log in to the website for the school they attended during the 2021-22 school year.

Rising seventh and eighth graders should use the Couch Beanstack website.

Rising sixth graders who attended Pharr should use the Pharr Beanstack website:

Rising sixth graders who attended Starling should use the Starling Beanstack website:

Rising sixth graders will be switched to Couch's account at the end of July.  All of their reading log information will be transferred to their Couch account.

New students:  Students who did not attend Couch, Starling, or Pharr this past year can participate in the Challenge by signing up for the Gwinnett County Public Library's Summer Reading Challenge.  They will use the public library's Beanstack account to record their minutes.  Students should choose Couch Middle School as their school when registering for the program.

More information, including instructions on logging reading in Beanstack, can be found in the CMS 360 Overview Video.

We hope you will encourage your child to participate in the CMS 360 Challenge. Thank you for your support of reading!
