Summer School Options

  • GCPS will pay for up to two summer school classes for high school students needing to retake a class they previously failed. The district is offering this option to students at no cost to address COVID-related learning gaps and to provide students with an additional opportunity to earn credit for failed courses.


Grayson High School

  • Grayson High School will offer summer school course options locally this summer.  Students can take up to two courses that they previously failed.  Please see below for details.

    • S1 and S2 courses will be held June 12 - July 6, 2023.
    • Students can select up to two previously failed courses to complete this summer: one course for the AM session (7:00 - 11:00 a.m.) and/or one course for the PM Session (11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.). 
    • All courses will be delivered face-to-face, including the Credit Recovery courses.  Credit recovery courses will be offered the week of June 12 - 16.  Keep in mind that credit recovery is not NCAA approved.
    • Transportation is not provided.
    • Students are required to attend class for a minimum of 16 days. A student can only be absent one day from summer school.
    • Space is limited in each of the courses, so register ASAP.  The registration deadline is May 26, 2023.

Face to Face

  • Gwinnett County Public Schools' Face-to-Face High School Summer School is a fee-based program that allows students to take courses to get ahead or to make-up a class previously failed.  Courses are available to all high school students, including selected courses for rising 9th graders.

    Registration opens: April 1, 2023

    Registration closes: May 26, 2023

    Register via MyPaymentsPlus (Acceptable forms of payment: credit/debit card or electronic check)

    Summer school dates: June 12 - July 6, 2023

Gwinnett Online Campus

  • Online summer school classes will be offered through Gwinnett Online Campus. Courses are available to all high school students, including selected courses for rising 9th graders. Note: Students will be invited to an optional virtual orientation on the first day of class.

    Registration Opens: February 15, 2023

    Registration Closes: May 26, 2023
