  • Art Club

    Start time: 7:00 a.m.

    End time: 7:45 a.m.

    K-2: Sept. 23rd, Oct. 28th, Nov. 18th, Jan. 27th, Feb. 24th, Mar. 24th

    3-5: Sept. 9th, Oct. 14th, Nov. 4th, Jan. 13th, Feb. 10th, Mar. 10th

    Students must arrive at the front office doors between 6:45 and 7:00 a.m. to meet Ms. Lee for entry. Those who are present will leave the front door at 7:00 a.m. to proceed to the art room. Students arriving after 7:00 a.m. will not be able to participate in art club.  

    Description:

    Art club will be a fun place to meet people who share a passion for art, learn new skills, and experiment with different art materials. During art club, students will expand their imaginations, creativity, and produce art to be displayed throughout the building and shared with others in and outside of Norton Elementary School.

    Club Capacity: There will be a capacity of 20 students per grade level band (K-2: 20 students total and 3-5: 20 students total). First come first served with receipt of art club application for art club participation (coming soon).

  • Music Club

    Faculty Adviser: Desiree Karb, Sabrina Mills

    Day of the Week: Wednesday

    Time: 3:15-4:15

    Students will play instruments and sing.  We will extend the student's learning beyond the music classroom, and encourage group participation. Music club will be held for students in 4th & 5th grade.

  • Readers Rally

    Faculty Advisers: Allison Luton, Debbie Moeller, Stephanie Porter

    Day of the Week: Thursday

    Time: Mornings, 7:00-7:45

    Readers Rally is a reading quiz bowl style competition for students in grades four through twelve (4th and 5th for ES). Students read books from a pre-determined list and answer questions about those books. Each Gwinnett County school may send one team of ten players or less to the Readers Rally event.

  • Robotics Team

    Faculty Adviser: Desra Brown, Tiandria Wright

    Day of the Week: Thursday

    Time: 3:15-4:30

    Participants gain real-world problem-solving experiences through a guided, global robotics program, helping today's students and teachers build a better future together.  In FIRST LEGO League, students engage in hands-on STEM experiences, building confidence, growing their knowledge and developing habits of learning. FIRST LEGO League’s three divisions inspire youth to experiment and grow their critical thinking, coding and design skills through hands-on STEM learning and robotics.


  • Sign Language

    Faculty Adviser: Ms. Buford

    Day of the Week: Monday

    Time: 3:15-4:15 pm

    American Sign Language (ASL) is considered as a foreign language. Norton Sign Language Choir consists of 4th and 5th graders learning American Sign Language to interpret songs and use them as a new communication skill. Using songs is a method of teaching sign language. Students will have a vocabulary of 500 words or more and will be able to communicate using sign language. The choir will perform at different events at school during the school year and hopefully within the community at different events.
