Teaching Middle School math takes a lot of wit, smiles, hugs and a lot of love for children.  I have been teaching at McConnell Middle school since 2013.  Working with students as they enter the next phase of their education is a complete joy.  I am here to help them transition to more complex concepts in beginning Algebra and to fine tune their skills and love for decimals and fractions ( I can hear the students moaning).

I enjoy this age group as my family is comprised of  my husband, John, 4 children (Logan, Grant, Ella and Annake), two dogs (Daisy and Scrappy), two cats (Foo and Astrid) and two turtles (no names). Two of my children (Grant and Ella) are in college while working full time, my oldest, Logan, is a Firefighter/EMT for Hall County and my last baby is still here at McConnell Middle School.  My family brings me great happiness and the experience I have needed to help my new students each year grow and learn.

Born and raised in Virginia Beach, Va, my husband and I moved here to Georgia in 1995.  After staying home with my children, I continued my education and received my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies at Western Governors University.  I continued my education studying for my Masters in Mathematics, which I am still persuing.  I truly love math and enjoy finding the strategies that will reach my students.
