About Earth Patrol
Annette Santana and Jessica Zoeller - teacher leaders
Earth Patrol held our annual Pennies for the Planet campaign to earn money to pay for our recycling service at Camp Creek. We raised over $1000 to cover this expense and now have to do the work of picking up recycling weekly! We appreciate everyone who donated to help us keep this project going. There are many schools in Gwinnett who do not recycle because of this expense and we are thankful that we can help our school and our planet be a bit cleaner through our recycling program.
We do receive an award from Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful each year for our Environmental profile - we are a Reaching Higher School which is the top level! This means we also incorporate lessons and activities to promote Earth Friendly behaviors in many classrooms on top of our club's work.
We meet Tuesday afternoons 1 time a month and have ongoing projects and initiatives that keep us busy- getting the school to recycle properly, talking about different types of pollution and conservation issues and what we can do to help promote positive change.
Clothing and Shoe Recycling!
Camp Creek has a bin for clothing and shoe donations. These donations directly benefit our club because we earn money for these donations and we in turn use these funds to pay for our paper recycling! Please consider donating used clothes and shoes into our bin!
It's near the outdoor classroom!
