ABOUT BHS LANGUAGE ARTS

  • The Brookwood Language Arts Department teaches reading, writing, and critical thinking skills across all grade levels. We also push students to earn superlative rankings in standardized test results, including:

    • District Assessments
    • End of Course Assessments
    • Gateway Exams
    • Advanced Placement Language Arts Exams

    Most of our teachers hold degrees at a master’s level or higher. Many also hold certifications, including ESOL and Gifted, and are actively involved in leadership roles at the county level. The team is committed to continuous professional growth and is consistently represented at professional development courses taught locally and countywide.

    Brookwood’s Language Arts Department is home to three of Brookwood High School’s recent Teacher of the Year award recipients. Each has also ranked as a Top 25 Teacher of the Year for Gwinnett County Public Schools.
