Two Versions of Open House
We will be offering two versions of our Open House to sixth grade families. Both versions will take place on Friday, August 7. We will hold face to face (F2F) open house during staggered times. You will be contacted by your child’s homeroom teacher, letting you know which block of time is set aside for your child. It will either be 9am-11am or 1pm-3pm. Keep your eye out for an email from your child’s homeroom teacher with your assigned time. We request that ONLY one parent attend with the student so we can reduce numbers in the building. ANYONE who enters the building must wear a mask for everyone’s safety.
For those families who are not comfortable entering the building, we will provide a digital version of the open house. This will be offered as prerecorded videos from your child’s teaching team. The teachers will cover all aspects of how they will run their classes, and they will also discuss the curriculum that is being taught in each of the classes. We hope this will be informative and helpful in answering your questions and calming your concerns. These videos will be available for viewing beginning at 9am on August 7. If you have questions after viewing the video(s), please reach out to the specific teachers via email.
*In addition, any 7th and 8th grade families who are NEW to Couch Middle School may also attend face to face Orientation on August 7th 9am-11am. All other 7th and 8th grade families will have access to a digital Orientation where they can "meet" their teachers and learn about what students will be studying during the 1st quarter.

Welcome to our rising 6th grade students and parents. Unfortunately, we were not able to have a face-to-face meeting this year to provide you with information about Couch and 6th grade. Instead, we have created a document that will provide you with answers to our most frequently asked questions. We look forward to meeting you in the Fall

Reading Resources for the SummerEven though your child can't visit the Couch Media Center during the summer, there are many ways for your student to still continue reading! The Gwinnett County Public Library is open for curbside pickup of holds. There are also many online resources available that provide ebooks and audiobooks. Click on the link below for details. Parents, please note that many of these resources contain books for a variety of age levels and abilities, so you may want to assist your child with his/her choices.
