5th Grade End Of Year Activities
If you have a 5th grader, here are two important end of the year activities to add to your calendar!
1. The 5th Grade Awards Ceremony is Tuesday, May 25th 9:30-11:30 a.m. at our outdoor classroom behind the school near the gym (close to Couch Middle School). Please RSVP at this link.
- You may arrive at 9:00 – Photo ID required for Check-In.
- Each Student will be allowed 2 guests – tickets to be distributed closer to event date.
- This is not a Drop Off Event: Digital Students must be accompanied
- Attire is Dressy Casual - Mask Required.
- If you prefer your student to participate digitally, please RSVP at the link above, then join on zoom. The link was sent in an email and via dojo.
2. The 5th grade "Final Walk" around the school building will be Wednesday, May 26th at 1:45 p.m. Digital parents may drop off your student at the gym side of the building by 1:15, then park and find your spot to watch. Please use this map to know where to stand.
Transportation Information for 21-22
Parents should have received the following email last week about transportation information needed for the 2021-2022 school year. This is only for K-4th.
To prepare for your child’s transportation needs for the 2021-2022 school year, please complete the transportation form linked below. Every student returning to Starling Elementary School next year will need a completed transportation form for the 21-22 school year. This form should only be filled out ONCE per student. There is a “submit” button on page 2 of the document. If the button does not seem to work, please email the completed form to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please call the front office at 678*344*6100 with any questions and submit the GCPS Transportation form by May 14, 2021.
Upcoming kindergarten families, mark your calendars for Kindergarten Academy! Kindergarten Academy is an introduction to school for our 2021-2022 registered kindergarten students. The dates will be June 14th-July 2nd, 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.. Click here to sign up for Kindergarten Academy. Device Return Information
All devices checked out to students must be checked back in to the local school at the end of the 2020-21 school year. If your student has a school-owned Chromebook, laptop, hot spot, or other device, please plan to return the device on the designated date and time listed below.
When returning your device, please bring all components, including chargers and mice; have the device fully charged and powered on in order to expedite the return process.
Devices will be assessed for damage upon return and fines may be assigned based on the damage in order to cover the cost of replacement parts and repairs. Fines can be paid by credit or debit card, cash, or check at the time of the return. If a device is returned in good condition, no fine will be assigned. Device services will be turned off and fines for replacing the device will be assigned if a device is not returned.
If a student needs a device for summer learning, the school will communicate a plan for device checkout at a later date.
DEVICE RETURN DATES/TIMES:
-Wednesday, May 26th, 11:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. - 5th graders ONLY (younger sibling devices may be returned with 5th grade devices)
-Thursday, May 27th and Friday, May 28th, 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. - all remaining student devices

After you have completed the online registration and uploaded the documents, please sign your child up for a time to take the in-person screener (step 3 on our website or visit this link https://ptcfast.com/schools/Starling_Elementary_School)
