Quality-Plus Teaching Strategies

The Quality-Plus Teaching Strategies (QPTS), originally developed by Gwinnett County Public Schools educators in 2006, identify the evidence-based pedagogical strategies supported by the district for use in every classroom. Quality-Plus Teaching Strategies are strategies that lead to optimal student learning.
Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS)

Gwinnett’s curriculum for grades K–12 is called the Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) and is aligned to the state-adopted Georgia Standards of Excellence in Language Arts (K-12), Mathematics
(K-12), and literacy standards for Science, Social Studies, and Technical Education for middle and high school students.
Special Education and Psychological Services

Gwinnett County Public School's Department of Special Education and Psychological Services is an award-winning program focused on meeting the special needs of individual students. In its quest to provide "quality learning through quality education for all student," the Department of Special Education and Psychological Services provides a wide range of services, including assessment and interventions. Students age 3-21 are eligible for special education and related services within the district.

eCLASS / Digital Learning

eCLASS is a major school system initiative designed to make this vision a reality. eCLASS is a digital Content, Learning, Assessment, and Support System that will provide the district an integrated enterprise solution to enhance student engagement and the learning process. This multi-year initiative will provide digital tools that will expand the walls of the classroom, fostering collaboration and nurturing creativity and innovation in students and teachers.
