NHS Credit Recovery
NHS Credit Recovery is offered to students with a final grade of 50-69 in a course the student previously attempted and did not pass. The Credit Recovery program builds on what students learned and allows students to demonstrate their knowledge of the course. Credit Recovery will take place in person from Tuesday, June 1st-Friday, June 4th. There will be 2 sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Students will have the opportunity to complete two courses.
Session 1 is from 7:00AM-11:00AM and Session 2 will be from 11:30AM -3:30PM.
The following courses will be available:
GCPS Summer School
GCPS will pay for up to two summer school classes for high school students needing to retake a class they previously failed. For students taking a course for the first time, the cost per course is $250. Information regarding summer school for your student was mailed home to the address we have on file, as well as emailed to you.
GCPS will offer face-to-face instruction at Duluth High School and online instruction at Gwinnett Online Campus
Please note, the online learning format can be challenging for many students. Students are required to be self-disciplined and able to work independently without face-to-face interaction with a classroom teacher. Technology will not be provided. Students are expected to log in to the online course every day to complete assignments.
You must register for your courses in MyPayments Plus under Course Previously Failed – Duluth High School or Gwinnett Online Campus (course previously failed). If you do not register under the correct category, your registration will be cancelled, and you will need to re-register in My Payments Plus.
Note: If you are currently completing a course through credit recovery, but feel as though you may not finish the course before the end of the school year, it is advised that you register for summer school courses.
Face to Face (Duluth HS) will be held June 14 - July 7 (Registration window: March 15-June 4)
Online (Gwinnett Online Campus) will be held June 7-June 30 (Registration window: March 15-May 30)
