    There are TWO ways to come work for Café Gwinnett – you can join the team as a GCPS employee, OR you can work in one of our cafeterias as a SPUR employee. Which one is right for you?

     

     GCPS employees in Café Gwinnett

    • …make from $14.00 per hour up to $19.52 per hour, based on related experience and college coursework.
    • …work 4-5 hours per day each school day and are eligible for the outstanding health benefits available to all GCPS staff, with a generous employer contribution.
    • …receive retirement benefits through the Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS) and the Gwinnett Retirement System (GRS).
    • …see 5% more of the money that they earn as take-home pay, since GCPS does not participate in social security.
    • …enjoy weekends, weeknights, student holidays and summers off.
    • …are paid monthly and receive pay all throughout the year – even including the summer months!
    • …receive generous paid sick leave, including 3 days to be used as personal leave throughout each school year.

    All Café Gwinnett employees – those hired through SPUR – are assigned to an elementary, middle, or high school location based on operational need.  All possible consideration is given to match you with a school location that aligns with your personal and professional desires.

    Show Me the Money!

    As a new hire with SPUR, you will receive an extra $300 per month each month for your first 3 months of work, as long as you don’t miss more than 20% of your scheduled work-days! If you choose to work as a substitute, you will receive an additional $150 per month for the first 3 months of work, as long as you work more than 11 days that month.
