In the Dacula Cluster, a commitment to blended instruction is making a difference for students. With its initial award, the cluster purchased 1,400 Chromebooks, placing 15 in each regular education classroom and five in each special education classroom.

In the Collins Hill Cluster, the cSTEM program has made great progress in just one year, receiving state STEM certification. Efforts have been made to make this program more attractive to female students and more representative of the student population.

The Meadowcreek Cluster has strategically supported the development toward the Meadowcreek Cluster Robotics and Computational Thinking Program, which supports the cluster’s robotic teams through design thinking. Continuing its emphasis on robotics, cluster schools have added opportunities to build students’ leadership and collaborative skills.

Peachtree Ridge High School is continuing its STEM Program for Innovation, Rigor, and Excellence (SPIRE), which was established four years ago.

2018 - Collins Hill High School, Collins Hill Cluster, Berkmar High School, Berkmar Middle School, and Five Forks Middle School
In addition to honoring Collins Hill High School and the Collins Hill Cluster, three individual schools—Berkmar High School, Berkmar Middle School, and Five Forks Middle School— were selected as recipients of an Innovation and Transformation Award based on their achievement. Specifically, Berkmar High School was recognized for its performance on the OECD Test for Schools. The two middle schools were recognized for achievement in mathematics using PISA-like test questions.

This year’s Innovation & Transformation Award recognized the Meadowcreek Cluster where schools are focused on creating learning experiences through application. The schools are focused on expanding robotics education and computational thinking throughout the cluster.

his year’s Innovation & Transformation Award recognized the Brookwood Cluster where some 10,000 students get a regular dose of real-world learning as they explore entrepreneurship through project-based learning (PBL) and experience-focused instruction.

2015 - Dacula Cluster and Lanier Cluster
The inaugural Innovation & Transformation Award focused on recognizing clusters that excelled in the adoption and implementation of eCLASS and other innovative instructional strategies. The Executive Cabinet identified two clusters it felt were leading the way in these areas.
