Prekindergarten

The free prekindergarten (pre-K) program for Georgia 4 year-olds is administered by the state. Children must be 4 years old by September 1 in order to enroll. In Gwinnett County, this program is delivered through private childcare providers who are approved by the state. Special Needs Preschool Services
Gwinnett County Public Schools provides a free and appropriate education, FAPE, to any preschool child who has been identified as a child with special needs. Children are able to receive services from the date of his/her third birthday until the age required to attend kindergarten, Sept. 1, of any given school year.
