Notice of Nondiscrimination

GCPS is expressly prohibited from subjecting any person to discrimination or harassment on the basis of his/her membership in a protected class by the following laws: Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; Age Discrimination Act of 1975; Title I and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990; and Title II of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008. 

GCPS Department of Internal Resolution and Compliance, Title IX

  • The GCPS Department of Internal Resolution and Compliance, Title IX ensures the equitable administration of applicable federal, state, and GCPS regulations and laws impacting the GCPS community and fosters positive relationships between the school system and its students and employees.  The Department of Internal Resolution and Compliance, Title IX also administers the complaint and appeal processes; investigates employee, student, and community complaints of discrimination or harassment; and processes accommodation requests. In addition, it facilitates compliance with legal requirements associated with Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act; Age Discrimination in Employment Act; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act; Age Discrimination Act; Titles I and II of the Americans with Disabilities Act; and Title II of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act.
