Time for Kindergarten
  • Registration for upcoming Kindergarten students for the new school year will take place starting in April of each school year. 

    Kindergarten Online Registration for the 2021-2022 school year will open on Tuesday, April 6th.

    Any current Kindergarten student who is transferring to Ferguson Elementary from within GCPS should visit the school's front office with the following documentation. The online registration process is NOT required for students transferring within GCPS.

    • Withdrawal Form from Previous School
    • Proof of Residency
    • Parent/Guardian ID

  • Step 1: Complete Online Registration

    For students enrolling in Kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year:

    If you are enrolling a new Kindergartener for the 2021-2022 school year, the child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2021.

    Starting on April 6, parents will complete the Online Registration Form. Please refer to the list of required documentation that will be needed to complete the registration process. 

    After your registration is complete, you will be contacted to set up an appointment for your child to complete a Kindergarten Readiness Entry Profile. This will help us see what your child knows before entering Kindergarten.

    For now, please visit the GCPS website for important information that will help the process go smoothly.

    For students enrolling in Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year:

    If you are enrolling a new Kindergartener for the current 2020-2021 school year, the child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2020.

  • Step 2: Upload Required Documentation

    During the online registration process, parents will upload the required documentation.

    Directions for uploading documentation during the online registration process can be found here.

    Please be aware that your child will not be entered into our student database and assigned a teacher until ALL required documents are received.

    Upon completion of the online registration process by the parent, the school will contact the parent to verify that everything has been completed and the required documentation has been submitted.
