• CHROMEBOOK and HOTSPOT

  • When can I return my Chromebook?

Student should return the Chromebook, with charger.  All hotspots with chargers should also be returned. Hotspots and Chromebooks will be deactivated if not returned.  All devices should be returned to the Media Center by Wednesday, May 25 or your student's last day (if a senior is exempting finals).  Fines will be added to your account on Monday, May 23, 2022 and will be removed upon return of devices and chargers.

  • If my Chromebook is damaged or lost, will I have to pay for it?

Yes, per the device loan agreement signed by parent/guardian, students are responsible for the device that’s been checked out to them. All fines can be paid for during collection (dates and times listed above).

  • How come I still see a fine on my student's account after I paid for it?

Please forward your confirmation of payment, or MyPaymentsPlus receipt with your child's name and student ID number to Ms. Her at Sunshine.Her@gcpsk12.org.

  • My child is taking Summer School classes; can they keep their Chromebook?

No, all devices will need to be checked in by the end of the school year. If your child needs one for Summer School, please contact the Community School Office at 678-512-6041 or email Sunshine.Her@gcpsk12.org

  • I don't have any internet at home. Can I keep a Hot Spot over the summer?

Unfortunately, no. All Hot Spots will need to be checked in for inventory purposes. However, GCPS does partner directly with internet providers (AT&T and Comcast) to provide discounted rates for our students and community. Please visit the Community School webpage to apply. Also check your local Gwinnett public library. They have Hotspots available for checkout for up to three weeks at a time through the Connect Gwinnett program.

  • What if my Chromebook is locked?

If you're Chromebook is currently locked it means that you have not logged into your Chromebook for 10 or more days.
