Teacher Recruitment Incentive Programs

  • At its June 17, 2021 meeting, the Gwinnett County Board of Education announced its support for the GCPS Recruitment Incentive Program, to attractTwo educators above Shine in GCPS the best, brightest, and most qualified teaching candidates to GCPS!

     

     

    To earn the full incentive, newly hired teachers for the designated positions must: 
    - Be hired June 7, 2021, or after;
    - Be hired for the 2021-22 school year (and not previously hired for a full or partial year);
    - Complete the 2021-22 school year; and
    - Sign a contract for the 2022-23 year.

     Important Note: Should the employee be terminated by Gwinnett County Public Schools for Cause prior to the one-year anniversary of the start date, or in the event that the employee resigns prior to the one-year anniversary of the start date without an approved reason (family move, illness, etc.), the employee may be obligated to repay Gwinnett County Public Schools the amount of such incentive previously paid to employee no later than 30 days following the date of termination or resignation.

     

  • Bilingual Teacher Recruitment Incentive: $4,000

  • Special Education Teacher Incentive (IRR-Resource, SLD, SDD, Mild ID, Pre-K, ASD-IV): $4,000

    (Special Education Programs- IRR-Resource, SLD, SDD, Mild ID, Pre-K, ASD-IV)

    Qualifying new employees will be paid a $4,000 incentive for serving one full school year (2021-22) as a Special Education Teacher in Gwinnett County Public Schools and signing a contract to serve a second year (2022-23) as a Special Education Teacher. Employee will receive the bonus on the schedule noted below (less applicable withholdings and deductions):       

       30 days after the start of the 2021-22 School Year: $ 2,000
       December 2021 check: $ 1,000
       Upon signing contract for 2022-23 School Year: $ 1,000

  • Special Education Teacher Incentive (ASD-I, ASD-II, ASD-III, DHH, EBD, OI, VI, SID/PID, MOID): $5,000

    (Special Education Programs- ASD-I, ASD-II, ASD-III, DHH, EBD, OI, VI, SID/PID, MOID)

    Qualifying new employees will be paid a $5,000 incentive for serving one full school year (2021-22) as a Special Education Teacher in Gwinnett County Public Schools and signing a contract to serve a second year (2022-23) as a Special Education Teacher. Employee will receive the bonus on the schedule noted below (less applicable withholdings and deductions):     

       30 days after the start of the 2021-22 School Year: $ 3,000
       December 2021 check: $ 1,000
       Upon signing contract for 2022-23 School Year: $ 1,000

     

     

  • Speech Language Pathologist Incentive: $4,000

    Qualifying new employees will be paid a $4,000 incentive for serving one full school year (2021-22) as a Speech Language Pathologist in Gwinnett County Public Schools and signing a contract to serve a second year (2022-23) as a Speech Language Pathologist. Employee will receive the bonus on the schedule noted below (less applicable withholdings and deductions):

       30 days after the start of the 2021-22 School Year: $ 2,000
       December 2021 check: $ 1,000
       Upon signing contract for 2022-23 School Year: $ 1,000

  • Math/Science Teacher Incentive: $4,000

    Qualifying new employees will be paid a $4,000 incentive for serving one full school year (2021-22) as a Math or Science Teacher in Gwinnett County Public Schools and signing a contract to serve a second year (2022-23) as a Math or Science Teacher. Employee will receive the bonus on the schedule noted below (less applicable withholdings and deductions):     

       30 days after the start of the 2021-22 School Year: $ 2,000
       December 2021 check: $ 1,000
       Upon signing contract for 2022-23 School Year: $ 1,000

  • Computer Science/Engineering Teacher Incentive: $4,000

    Qualifying new employees will be paid a $4,000 incentive for serving one full school year (2021-22) as a Computer Science or Engineering Teacher in Gwinnett County Public Schools and signing a contract to serve a second year (2022-23) as a Computer Science or Engineering Teacher. Employee will receive the bonus on the schedule noted below (less applicable withholdings and deductions):     

       30 days after the start of the 2021-22 School Year: $ 2,000
       December 2021 check: $ 1,000
       Upon signing contract for 2022-23 School Year: $ 1,000

  • Special Education Paraprofessional Incentive: $1,500

    (All Special Education Programs)

    Qualifying new employees will be paid a $1,500 incentive for serving one full school year (2021-22) as a Special Education Paraprofessional in Gwinnett County Public Schools. Employee will receive the bonus on the schedule noted below (less applicable withholdings and deductions):       

       30 days after the start of the 2021-22 School Year: $ 750
       December 2021 check: $ 750
