FAQs
  • What is the SEA program?

The SEA program offers enrichment and acceleration opportunities as well as support for students who did not meet requirements for promotion to the next grade. Learning will either be accelerated to look ahead at what students will be learning at the next grade level or support will be provided to help students meet promotion requirements. Students will work in flexible learning groups and teachers will share information in new ways to help prepare your child for the coming school year. In addition, all students in SEA will participate in enrichment activities. Fun and engaging learning opportunities will cover subject areas typically offered in Specials and Connections courses.

  • Who can attend the SEA program?

Schools have selected students who will benefit the most from this summer learning opportunity, including children who did not meet promotion requirements.

  • What are the dates and hours for SEA?

During the three-week session, (June 13–July 1), students will attend Monday through Friday. June 20 is a school holiday. Elementary students will attend the free SEA Program from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and middle school students will attend the program from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • How much does it cost to attend?

This three-week program is free to attend. Meals (breakfast and lunch) and transportation are provided at no cost to families. How do I register my child for this program? You should have received a letter inviting your child to participate in SEA. Please return this form to the school by the deadline to reserve your child’s place in the program. If you do not return your form by the deadline, this invitation will be extended to another student.

  • Our family has vacation plans. Can my child attend part of the three-week program?

We believe students will get the most out of this program when they participate in the full three weeks and ask that families commit to their child attending every day.

  • If my child can’t attend, are there other options for summer learning?

Yes. K–8 students can access the Digital Summer Support eCLASS page to participate in self-paced, digital summer support opportunities in reading and math from June 6 to July 12.
