The Planning Department develops enrollment forecasts based upon analysis of student data trends, demographic factors, and development patterns. Staff monitors land rezoning and development approvals by Gwinnett County Government and our municipalities in order to plan for the educational needs of our students. This office supports the development and prioritization of the school building program, coordinates the public redistricting process, including the formation and modification of school attendance boundaries, and organizes tasks associated with the naming of new schools.

The department administers and maintains a Geographic Information System which enables the district to store, manage, and analyze spatial and geographic data. These functions assist the district in planning for present and future growth, thereby benefiting our students and community.

Systemwide Engineer

Pete Wilson Systemwide Engineer

770-513-6611

Pete.Wilson@gcpsk12.org

The success of the school system's Operational Services Division is due to its focus on continuous improvement. We consistently look for better ways to improve service and exceed customers' expectations. The Office of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) provides leadership in this area, acting as a resource for the division. CQI tools and methods help  Operational Services to understand, analyze, and improve so it can meet the needs of students, staff, and the community.

The office of the Systemwide Engineer is responsible for evaluating and maintaining the district’s existing facility inventory and developing processes to identify and prioritize capital renewal needs based upon life-cycle analysis of building systems and facility deficiencies. In addition, the office assists with the prioritization of infrastructure investments, projecting capital costs and budget requirements, and supporting the ongoing development of our five-year capital plan.
