Mr. Kemel Roberts, Assistant Principal
My name is Kemel Roberts, and I am honored to serve as a leader at Lawrenceville Elementary School, where I get to impact future generations. I have worked as an Assistant Principal at Lawrenceville Elementary School for almost three years. Courage, hard work, determination, and exposure can significantly improve our students' futures!
I am originally from Brooklyn, New York. My career as an educator began over 20 years ago, working with the New York City Department of Education. While working in New York City, I taught grades 6-9 English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies and was the AVID Elective Teacher. I also worked as a Data Specialist, Testing Coordinator, and Mathematics Coach. In 2014 I took a leap of faith, relocated to Lawrenceville, Georgia, and began working in GCPS as a fifth-grade teacher at Minor Elementary School. In December 2020, I became an assistant principal at Lawrenceville Elementary School.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of Albany English, a Master of Science in Urban Education from Long Island University Brooklyn Campus, and a Tier 1 Leadership certification from the University of West Georgia.
I enjoy reading, watching movies, singing karaoke, eating Honduran food, and spending quality time with my wife, Frances, and daughter Ava.
