Web 2.0 Permissions
Web 2.0 tools are educational web-based platforms that enable students to digitally create, collaborate, and communicate academic content. The reason for allowing the use of Web 2.0 tools by students is an effort to help them work independently and collaboratively both in and out of school. To withhold your consent from your student using these Web 2.0 tools, you must notify each of your student’s teachers within the first 10 days of attending that teacher’s class.
Students will have the opportunity to use various Web 2.0 tools in all of their classes. Some examples of commonly used resources are Edmodo, Prezi, and Glogster. Access to these resources may require teachers to create accounts for students. Therefore, in order to facilitate the use of Web 2.0 logins, each student will be issued a Gmail address/account for the sole purpose of Trickum use. This Gmail address/account is for login purposes, internal Trickum email and document sharing. Students will be required to adhere to all GCPS and Trickum acceptable use policies and procedures.
