The Fair will highlighted career opportunities that await our students in the fields of science and engineering. Our theme – “Envisioning the future” encourages students, judges and partners of the event to look forward to creative and innovative STEM application in our world. Our Innovation in Action program encourages students to create real world applications for their projects and pitch a business or service in hopes it becomes a reality one day. The opportunity to innovate is all around us every day, giving our students a chance to look around, challenge their minds to think outside the box and solve problems. In partnership with the Gwinnett County Public Library (GCPL), GCPS provides Tutor.com as an online tutoring resource for students. Live tutoring support is available daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. In addition, students can receive “drop-off support,” 24-7, by uploading a document for tutor feedback that will be reviewed and returned at a later time.
November is Native American Heritage Month. First celebrated as American Indian Day in 1916, President Reagan made a proclamation to extend the commemoration to a week. In 1990 President George H.W. Bush issued an official proclamation calling for a month long celebration, and every president since has made the same proclamation. The month is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people.
