Messages from the Board

GCPS Logo

Dear Gwinnett County Public Schools Students, Families, and Staff,

We hope this message finds you well. As the Gwinnett County Board of Education, we remain steadfast in our commitment to providing every student with a high-quality education in a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

As our district enters a period of leadership transition, the Board is working to ensure continued stability and progress. We have directed Interim Superintendent Dr. Al Taylor to implement a clear set of next steps designed to provide a seamless transition and support our schools for the remainder of the academic year or until a replacement superintendent is named.

At our request, the Interim Superintendent has created a 100-day plan intended to keep the focus on students. The plan addresses immediate priorities while we prepare for the next phase of leadership and helps ensure a smooth and well-organized transition. Our actions will continue to align with the strong foundation already outlined in Our Blueprint for the Future’s strategic priorities: Empathy, Equity, Effectiveness, and Excellence.

In the coming weeks, the Board will launch a national search to identify the next superintendent for Gwinnett County Public Schools. We are committed to a thoughtful process and remain focused on student achievement, community engagement, and operational excellence. Our Core Values and Beliefs guide our daily work to ensure that every student has equitable access to resources, inclusive and affirming learning experiences, and the opportunity to thrive.

We deeply appreciate your ongoing support, trust, and partnership as we move forward. By working together, we will continue to build a brighter future for all students in Gwinnett County Public Schools.
