Dear Gwinnett County Public Schools Families,

We trust this letter reaches you and your family well. The Board of Education has made the difficult decision to initiate a transition in superintendent leadership. This decision was made with thoughtful consideration of the future needs of our students, schools, and community.

We want to assure you that the essential work of teaching and supporting your children will continue without interruption. Our unwavering commitment is to provide a high-quality education for every child in Gwinnett County. To maintain stability and continuity during this period, we have appointed Dr. Al Taylor as interim superintendent.

Strong leadership is essential to the success of our schools and students. Over the coming months, we will begin a nationwide search for a new superintendent who can build upon the strengths of our district and move us forward in educational excellence. As part of this process, we are committed to seeking input from parents, teachers, staff, and community members. Your perspectives are critical in helping us identify a candidate whose values and vision align with those of our district and community. Transparency and collaboration will guide every step of this important process.

Our goal is to find a leader through a national search process who shares our commitment to improving outcomes for every student, particularly those who face the greatest challenges. Your voices will help shape this vision and ensure that we select a candidate that reflects the hopes and aspirations of the families we serve.

We want to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your ongoing support. Your partnership in your child's education is a key factor in their success. The work of our teachers, support staff, and administrators is strengthened by your belief in your children and in Gwinnett County Public Schools.

We are inspired by the resilience and commitment of our families, students, and staff. Together, we will continue to build a brighter future for every student in our district.

Thank you for your trust and support.

With gratitude,

Gwinnett County Public Schools Board of Education
