FY2027 Millage Rate Information
A millage rate is the property tax rate used to fund school district operations. It is applied to the taxable value of a property as determined by the Gwinnett County Tax Assessor.
Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is funded through a combination of state funding, local property taxes, federal grants, and other revenues. The local property taxes, that impact the millage rate, provides a stable source of funding that helps school districts operate schools, pay employees, transport students, maintatin facilities, and provide instructional programs. Without the millage rate, the district would not have sufficient local revenue to fund many of the services students rely on every day.
GCPS is committed to providing property tax relief by lowering the millage rate four times since FY2019 from 19.8 mills to 18.70 mills. This years millage rate will remain unchanged.
