Research, Evaluation, and Analytics
The Department of Research, Evaluation, and Analytics supports the vision and mission of Gwinnett County Public Schools by conducting research, evaluation, and data analyses that align to the district's strategic plan Our Blueprint for the Future: Building the Bridge from Empathy to Excellence. The department works with both internal and external partners to meet its goals. It also supports the district and school leaders throughout the district with the use of research and data. The department turns data into information and knowledge through the development, implementation, and promotion of sound research practices supporting the plan-do-check-act cycle of continuous quality improvement across the organization.
The department is housed under the Division of Strategy, Performance, and Accountability. See below for a description of each of the 3 offices in this department and the work for which each team is responsible.
Office of Research - Dr. Matthew Lovelace, Director
The Office of Research supports the district's Results-Based Evaluation System. The office also supports the district with ongoing strategic plan management, the measurement of the Key Performance Indicators, and conducting literature reviews.
Office of Evaluation - Dr. Sheril Bryan, Director
The Office of Evaluation is responsible for conducting program evaluations to support continuous improvement processes across the organization. This team also leads the Institutional Review Board (IRB) process through which educational research requests are reviewed.
Office of Data Analytics - Mr. Roland Richard, Director
The Office of Data Analytics designs and conducts maintenance on various dashboards as well as supporting the organization by responding to requests for data analysis.
