The Grounds Maintenance Department works to ensure GCPS campuses are safe, inviting, and well maintained. The team oversees all school system property, drives, and parking lots to keep them functional. The Grounds workforce remains environmentally conscious while improving and beautifying our educational facilities.

  • 4,512 acres maintained districtwide

  • 3 zones | 6 district shops

  • Athletic fields, turf, track, playgrounds, paving, and exterior assets

  • 2.6 million square yards of paving and concrete maintained

  • 1,000+ playground assets inspected quarterly by Certified Playground Safety Inspectors (CPSI)

  • Storm response, traffic control, fencing, and wildlife support
