GCPS has identified four high-impact focus areas for 2024–25 that align closely with the mission and vision of the organization and are rooted in Our Blueprint for the Future, the district’s strategic plan:

  • College and Career Readiness,
  • Each and Every Student,
  • Literacy Proficiency, and

The Blueprint in Action focus for the months of November and December is Each and Every Student. During these months we will be spotlighting how our schools are taking on the challenge to meet the needs of each and every student, specifically highlighting the efforts in GCPS to meet these objectives in our strategic plan:

  • Create systems, structures, and processes that institutionalize and operationalize the GCPS commitment to recognizing, valuing, and leveraging differences to interact effectively and better serve our students, staff, and community. 1.A ​

  • Identify academic and non-academic strengths, needs, and interests of each and every student to ensure whole learner, whole child focus. 2.A ​

  • Increase opportunities for students to demonstrate eligibility for gifted/talented programming. 2.B ​

  • Sustain teaching quality and reduce variability between schools and classrooms. 4.A

On October 24, students in Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) after-school care programs celebrated the 2nd annual recognition of Lights on Afterschool Awareness Day in partnership with the district’s Office of Community Schools.

On October 29, Gwinnett students in grades 8, 10, and 11 took the PSAT free of charge. The PSAT is a part of the SAT family of assessments.
