• Meet Ms. Amolo

I have been the Media Specialist at Gwin Oaks since 2000. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at Howard University, my Master's Degree in Elementary Library Media and Technology at Georgia State, and my Specialist Degree in Instructional Technology at Valdosta State University. Before becoming a Media Specialist I taught 6th grade language arts for 2 years and 4th grade for 5 years. I was honored to become Gwin Oaks Teacher of the Year for the 2009-2010 school year and in 2013 to be named Gwinnett County Media Specialist of the Year.

The Gwin Oaks Elementary Media Center fosters a love for reading, encourages students to try new technologies, and focuses on student learning every day.  In addition to students coming down for collaborative media center lessons they also enjoy research trivia, centers, computers, 3D printing, virtual reality, and sharing good books with their friends. The Media Center operates on a flexible schedule to best serve the needs of the students and teachers.
