I have been the Media Specialist at Gwin Oaks for 19 years. I earned my Bachelor's Degree at Howard
University, my Master's Degree at Georgia State, and my Specialist Degree in Instructional Technology at Valdosta State University. Before becoming a Media Specialist I taught 6th grade language arts for 2 years and 4th grade for 5 years. I was honored to become Gwin Oaks Teacher of the Year for the 2009-2010 school year and in 2013 to be named Gwinnett County Media Specialist of the Year.

The Media Center operates on a flexible schedule. In addition to students coming down for collaborative media center lessons they also enjoy research trivia, centers, computers, 3D printing, virtual reality, and sharing good books with their friends.
