Kindergarten and new student registration
  • Step 1: Complete Online Registration

    Registration for upcoming Kindergarten students and new to GCPS student for the new school year (2021-2022) will open April 6, 2021. 

    If this is your first time registering any student for GCPS:

    If you currently have other children attending a GCPS school:

    • If you already have another child enrolled in a GCPS school, you will need to add your new student via your Parent Portal account.  Log into your Parent Portal and begin the registration process by clicking on the 'Online Registration' button in the upper right-hand corner.

    • Please DO NOT create a new parent portal account for the new student.  Use your existing Parent Portal account to register your new student.  If you cannot log into your account, please call the school for help. 

    If you are enrolling a new Kindergartener for the 2021-2022 school year, the child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2021.

  • Step 2: Submit Required Documentation

    Required documentation can be uploaded during the online registration process or brought to the office during your scheduled appointment time.  A list of the required documents can be found HERE or on the GCPS registration page.  

    We encourage you to upload all documents when registering. These items include:

    • Birth Certificate
    • Parent Photo ID
    • Social Security Card
    • Immunization on Ga form # 3231
    • Vision/Hearing/Dental on Ga form #3300
    • TWO Proofs of Residency which may include:
      utility bill, phone, cable, AND/OR closing/lease agreement, property tax bill, homeowner's insurance, warranty deed

    A residency affidavit is required for all students.  Directions for this form can be found HERE and the residency affidavit can be found HERE.

    *If you reside in a home that is owned by someone else, upload the above information and an attached residency affidavit.

    Please be aware that your child will not be entered into our student database and assigned a teacher until ALL required documents are received. If possible, please make copies ahead of time.

  • Step 3: Sign up for Registration Appointment time

    Each enrolling kindergartner is required to have a kindergarten screening, registration will also be completed at this time.  If this date does not work for you, other dates will be announced throughout spring and summer. All screenings take place at Gwin Oaks Elementary School. Only one parent can accompany their child to the screening.

    May 21st- July 21

    Note: Please bring a copy of any document you are unable to upload and photo ID with you to the screening.
