Prom Guidelines

  • Please review the rules below that are in place for Junior-Senior Prom at the Fox Theater on Saturday, April 16th, 2022. Please be sure you understand them and are aware of the consequences if you do not abide by them.

    1. Face masks must be worn at all times during Prom. Students must social distance while they at the event. Students will also be asked to not congregate in groups of more than ten.

    2. Covid-19 Rules: Do not attend this event if you are sick or have Covid -19 symptoms, have been diagnosed with Covid-19 within 10 days (April 6th) prior to prom, are awaiting a Covid-19 test result, or have been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with Covid-19.

    3. Photo ID (Driver’s License, School ID, Learners Permit, etc) will be required upon check-in.

    4. Prom will end promptly at 11:00 pm. You must have a ride at the Fox Theater by 11:00 pm.

    5. Suggestive or inappropriate dancing will not be allowed at all. This is a school-sponsored event. Please understand you WILL be asked to leave if you cannot dance appropriately.

    6. No excessively revealing (front and/or back) or short dresses will be allowed. If you think your dress is in violation of this dress code, please bring a picture with you wearing the dress to an administrator’s office.

    7. Gentlemen—jackets and ties are required. Shirts must be worn at all times.

    8. No glow sticks or open containers of any kind will be allowed.

    9. This is a school-sponsored event; therefore, all GCPS and Grayson High School rules apply.

    10. Students must be present for half the school day on Friday, April 15, 2022, in order to be able to attend Prom on Saturday, April 16, 2022.

    11. Students who are suspended or expelled during this time are not allowed to attend any GCPS school function, including Prom.

    12. Grayson High School students who are planning to bring a date that does not attend Grayson High School to the dance are responsible for sharing this information with their date.

    I understand that I must follow all of the above rules or I could be asked to leave the Prom.

  • General Information

    Who can attend the prom?
    Prom is a dance for any junior or senior who has purchased a prom ticket on My Payments Plus.

    When is the dance?
    The dance is Saturday, April 16th from 7-11 pm. The prom will end promptly at 11:00 pm. You must have a ride at the Fox Theater to pick you up no later than 11:00 pm.

    Where is the dance?
    Prom will be held at the Fox Theater.

    What can I use for a photo ID at check-in?
    You can use a school ID (this year or last year), Driver’s License, or Learner’s Permit. If you don’t have one of these, go to the media center to get them to print your picture ID.

  • Tickets

    How much are tickets?
    $75 until April 1st (unless they sell out early)

    Where do I buy a ticket?
    On MyPaymentsPlus until April 1st (unless they sell out early).

    What is the last date to buy a prom ticket?
    The last day to pay is April 1st on MyPaymentsPlus.

  • Date Tickets

    How much do date tickets cost?
    Tickets are $75 on MyPaymentsPlus

    When do date tickets go on sale?
    Date tickets will be sold on MyPaymentsPlus from March 14th until April 1st.

    How many date tickets can I buy?
    Each student will be allowed to buy one date ticket. You are NOT allowed to switch tickets.

  • Prom Court

    How can I nominate/vote someone for Prom Court?
    Nominations will be made on the Junior and Senior eClass pages the week of April 11-14.

    When do we vote?
    The person with the highest number of nominations will be selected for Prom King/Queen. The winners will be announced at the dance around 9:30 pm.

    How will I know if I am on the prom court?
    The top 3 nominees will be notified by Friday, April 15th.

  • Dance Behavior and Dress Code

    What is the dress code?
    Ladies - no excessively revealing (front and/or back) or short dresses will be allowed. If you think your dress is in violation of this dress code, please bring a picture with you wearing the dress to an administrator’s office.

    Gentlemen - jackets and ties are required. Shirts must be worn at all times. 

    Students in violation of this WILL be asked to leave.

  • Parking and Tickets

    How much is parking?
    There are several lots to Park at around the Fox Theater. You are responsible for paying for your own parking.  There is no valet parking at the Fox Theater.
