  • Academic Quiz Bowl

    Meeting Information: Tuesdays 4:30-5:30pm in lower media center

    Purpose: Quiz bowl is an academic competition club where two teams complete head-to-head to answer questions from al areas of knowledge, including history, literature, science, fine arts, current events, popular culture, sports, and more.

  • BETA Club

    Meeting Information: once a month; A wing room 1.247

    Purpose: To promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership

  • Board Game Club

    Meeting Information: Once a month before school at 8:00am in the lower Media Center

    Purpose: To play board games.

    Purpose: Talk about books. Debate books. Celebrate books and readers.

  • Boys Basketball

    Faculty Sponsor(s):  Mr. Costantino, Mr. Stanley, and Mr. Burton

    Meeting Information: After school Monday-Friday

    Purpose: To develop basketball skills and improve as a player. To learn "life lessons" that have value beyond the basketball court.

    Dues/Membership: Yes; 7th and 8th graders with a current physical; pass 5 out of 6 classes and in good disciplinary status; must pay fees and dues by the given deadline

  • Breakout Club

    Meeting Information: Once a month before school at 8:00am in the lower Media Center

    Purpose: Puzzles. Collaboration. Schema. Fun.

  • Cheerleading

    Meeting Information: Practice is held in the upper gym on Tuesdays and Wednesdays but will change when basketball season starts.

    Purpose: To support CMS and the CMS basketball teams

  • Chess Club

    Meeting Information: Thursday mornings at 8:00 am in room 1.279 C wing

    Purpose: Chess club gives students a place to play and interact with peers who have the same interest.

  • Creekland "Talk to the HAND" Sign Language Club

    Faculty Sponsor(s): Ms. McBryde, Ms. Clyne & Ms. Drummond-Carey

    Meeting Information: 4:30-5:45 pm on Tuesdays in the SOARbucks Cafe; meeting dates: 9/21, 10/5, 10/19, 11/2, 11/16, 11/30, 12/7, 12/14, 1/11, 2/1, 2/15, 3/1, 3/15, 3/29, 4/12, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10

    Purpose: The Creekland Middle School Sign Language Club (T3H) works to increase awareness of American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf Culture in our school and community.  We offer a welcoming environment to all those who desire to learn or improve their signing skills through practice, lessons, activities, interaction, and performances, while developing relationships in the community.

  • Eagle Dance Team

    Meeting Information: Practices Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 7:30am beginning September 16 after tryouts (through basketball season)

    Purpose: Our goal is to grow as dancers, performers, and people and bring spirit to CMS Basketball games and other events

    Dues/Membership: Yes, students must be passing 5 out of 6 classes to participate; sports physicals; dancers may be restricted from performing due to poor attendance or bad behavior

  • Eagles Action News Broadcast Club

    Faculty Sponsor(s): Ms. Carrie Card and Mr. Dakota Stockton

    Meeting Information: Daily @ 8:50 am in the lower media center (broadcast room)

    Purpose: Students will produce and report announcements at the beginning of each school day; this includes not only the regular morning announcements but also producing short videos about happenings in the school

    Dues/Membership: No; dedicated and dependable students who can and will report to the TV studio promptly each day and conduct themselves in a manner appropriate to a representative of the Creekland school family

  • Eagles' Girl Talk

    Faculty Sponsor(s): Ms. Joiner & Ms. Latimore

    Meeting Information: TBD in room 1.077 E wing

    Purpose: To help all girls live confidently, lead fearlessly, and grow into women who support and encourage one another

    Dues/Membership: No; Girl Talk is open to all girls attending CMS. The sponsors expect the girls attending to participate and engage with our HS mentors.

  • Girls Basketball

    Meeting Information: Practices will start in October 2021 and end in February 2022; practices are held in the upper gym from 7:15am-8:50am

    Purpose: To develop student athletes into positive leaders in the school community

    Dues/Membership: Yes; there will be tryouts; you must make the team to play

  • Intramurals Fall & Spring

    Faculty Sponsor(s): Coach Holloway & Coach Rickett

    Meeting Information: 8:15-8:50 am Monday-Thursday; Fall - 8/20-10/17; Spring - 3/10-5/4; Fall Intramurals start Tuesday, September 7thth with ALL 6th grade students.  Wednesday is for ALL 7th grade students; Thursday is for ALL 8th grade students. Students need to enter the building in the lower gym lobby at 8:00.  ALL students need to be in the upper gym by 8:10.  

    Purpose: To allow students the opportunity to develop physical skills while learning to work collaboratively; program offers students a variety of activities that can be played before the school day begins

    Dues/Membership: No; participants must wear appropriate shoes for play on the gym floor as well as school approved clothing. Student sare expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship and conduct at all times.

  • Makerspace Club

    Meeting Information: Once a month before school at 8:00am in the lower Media Center

    Purpose: Explore. Collaborate. Create. Inspire.

  • Readers Rally

    Faculty Sponsor(s): Ms. McDonald-Lane, Ms. Gibson and Ms. Ford

    Meeting Information: Meeting times are 4:30-5:30pm, once per week beginning Wednesday, October 13, 2021

    Purpose: To promote a love of reading and provide an opportunity for students to share their enjoyment of literature. The club will culminate in the county competition which will take place in February 2022. 

    Dues/Membership: Yes; there is a one time $15 fee per student. Students are expected to read between 10 and 15 books as assigned by GCPS. Students are also expected to attend all practice sessions and must be available on Saturday, February 26 for the competition.

  • Robotics

    Meeting Information: Specific meeting dates are listed below. Meetings are held from 4:30-5:30 pm in room 1.384 or 1.391.

    Purpose: To support students in the advancement of robotic design and programming while preparing them for the future with the use of technology and electronics. Students will become problem solvers and collaborators while completing projects.

  • Soaring Eagle Players Drama Club

    Meeting Information: All meetings are 4:30-5:30pm; 2021 Dates - 8/11, 9/8, 10/6, 11/3, 12/1 & 2022 Dates - 1/12, 2/9, 3/9, 4/13, 5/11

    Purpose: The mission of the Soaring Eagle Players is to encourage creative action for our students by providing them with the skills and training to become well rounded theatre practitioners.

    Dues/Membership: Yes, members are expected to attend 6 of 10 meetings

  • Soccer Club

    Meeting Information: Wednesdays 4:30-5:30 pm in lower gym roll call, then the lower field

    Purpose: To enjoy and play soccer and pick a tournament team for competition in March

    Dues/Membership: Yes; No late pickups/no bullying, no bad language. If pick up is late 3 times, student will no longer be able to stay with the club.

  • Yearbook Club

    Meeting Information: Two Thursdays each month in room A 1.234

    Purpose: Yearbook club gives 8th grade representatives a chance to have a voice in what will commemorate their last year as a Creekland Eagle.
